Tom Hosford joined Forest Hills Public Schools in 2025 as assistant superintendent of human resources. He brings a wealth of educational leadership experience to the role, having most recently served as principal of Rockford High School, a grades 10–12 building, since July 2021. His administrative career at Rockford Public Schools also includes serving as principal of the district’s freshman center, principal of Crestwood Elementary School, and assistant principal at both the middle and high school levels, giving him a broad, cross-sector perspective on what it takes to support students, staff, and school communities at every level.
Tom holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, both from Grand Valley State University, and is currently a doctoral candidate at Western Michigan University.
Tom holds professional certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) and has completed extensive Title IX and Civil Rights training, experience he brings directly to bear in ensuring Forest Hills remains a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for every student and staff member. His deep familiarity with collective bargaining and employee relations strengthens the district’s ability to build and maintain a workplace where staff feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work on behalf of Forest Hills students and families.
Throughout his career, Tom has demonstrated a strong commitment to building and supporting exceptional teams through staff recruitment, evaluation, and professional development. His passion for developing people and fostering a strong workplace culture aligns closely with Forest Hills’ commitment to attracting and retaining the outstanding educators and staff who make One Forest Hills possible.
