UPCOMING ART EXHIBITS
The Forest Hills Fine Arts Center Artist program offers selected local and regional artists a unique opportunity to share their work and talent with students and art-lovers in the Forest Hills area. Each artist is launched with a public reception to introduce the artist to the community and unveil an exhibition of their work in the Center gallery. Each exhibit year runs from September to June, and each artist occupies the gallery for approximately a month.
ARTIST EXHIBIT SCHEDULE
MARGARET KRIEGBAUM
Artist Reception September 17th at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
We are living during chaotic times. In response, I want my paintings to offer a quiet respite—a sanctuary from a world that often saps our energy and sense of tranquility. My hope is that through art, we can pause and reconnect with what is truly important.
I strive for the essence of my subjects. By distilling them into their simplest forms, I aim to engage a more profound emotional and contemplative response from the viewer.
In 2024, after a lifetime of working with oils, a workshop inspired me to transition to acrylics. This change has fundamentally transformed my process and the final artistic outcome of my paintings. I have also begun “painting with papers.” This method offers a new sense of freedom, though it brings its own set of technical challenges. I thrive on experimentation, growth through failures, and continuously pushing the boundaries of my art to reach new levels of expression.
PAULETTE CARR
Artist Reception October 15th at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Paulette’s art journey started early when she used scraps of drywall ta
paint and draw on as her parents were building their home. Although her
art journey took a side track after high school, she sought her passion for art and chasing the light again 14 years ago.
The owner of Brave Art Studios & Gallery, she seeks to create more opportunities for art in the world, not just for herself, but for everyone.
Paulette feels that our communities are stronger, more vibrant, and forward thinking as art becomes more present in our day to day
lives. Art can help heal. The creative process allows the brain to visit experiences without accessing the anxiety that accompanies some experiences.
This exhibit strives to capture the light as it moves throughout our world in an effort to bring light and healing to the space it occupies.
FHPS STAFF & COMMUNITY ART ENRICHMENT

ANGELA GREEN & JIM GABBARD
Artist Reception January 14, 2027 at 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm
For Gabbard and Green, writing poetry to accompany their photographs is like channeling an inanimate object and being inside the confines of that object. Putting words with intent to pair with an image is journeying into the photograph and yielding to the flow while staying true to
the image. The poetry brings the photo to life and gives it a story of its own.
