Julie Davis brings more than 30 years of experience in education to her work at Forest Hills Public Schools, where she has served the district for over a decade. Prior to FHPS, she worked for Grand Rapids Public Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in educational leadership, and has contributed her expertise to the statewide audit committee for more than 20 years.
As a steward of the community’s investment in public education, Julie oversees the district’s budget with a commitment to financial transparency, accountability, and long-term sustainability, ensuring Forest Hills operates responsibly on behalf of every family we serve.
Her leadership has been instrumental in securing the resources needed to support students and community members for generations to come. Julie helped guide the successful passage of two major bond proposals—$130 million in 2018 and $340 million in 2023—funding critical improvements to the district’s educational and athletic facilities. She also led efforts to renew the operating millage, a cornerstone of the district’s day-to-day funding, and championed the 2022 renewal of the recreation millage, which sustains enrichment programs for community members of all ages.
Julie’s dedication to financial excellence is consistently recognized at both the state and national levels. For 28 consecutive years, Forest Hills has earned the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) and the Michigan Association of School Business Officials, reflecting the high standards Julie and her team bring to every aspect of district finance.
