PERSONALIZED LEARNING

AI tailors educational experiences to each student’s unique needs using data and adaptive technologies to support cognitive, emotional, and social growth.

EQUITY & INCLUSION

AI tools identify and address learning gaps, ensuring all communities of learners have access to high-quality resources and targeted interventions.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Continuous investment in educator training on ethical AI use, data privacy, and leveraging AI for instructional innovation.

DATA PRIVACY & SECURITY

Robust measures ensure AI technologies are used responsibly and ethically, maintaining trust and protecting student and educator data.

ETHICAL USE OF AI

Policies reflect transparency, accountability, and fairness. Teachers are encouraged to add AI use language to their syllabi for classroom clarity.

COLLABORATION & COMMUNITY

Co-creating an AI-enhanced educational environment by fostering collaboration among students, parents, educators, and community members.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Real-time feedback and insights into student learning and instructional effectiveness drive informed decisions and best practices.

STUDENT AI BEST PRACTICES

TO DO
NOT TO DO
BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT – ASK YOURSELF:

  1. Did I write this?
Ensure no AI-generated information was copied verbatim into your final submission.
  2. Is it accurate?
Verify that all facts provided by the AI are actually true using reliable sources.
  3. Did I cite it?
Check your teacher’s syllabus for how to credit AI help and reference the FHPS AI Rubric.

STAFF AI BEST PRACTICES

Use Gemini as your assistant to free up time to teach and connect with your students — while maintaining the human-centered heart of your classroom.

DISTRICT–SUPPORTED AI TOOLS

Five AI platforms are officially supported by FHPS for staff and students, each serving distinct instructional purposes.

Brisk – A free AI-powered Chrome extension for teachers to give feedback, level text, create content, and inspect writing.

Diffit – Helps teachers get "just right" instructional materials, saving time and helping all students access grade-level content.

Magic School AI – For lesson planning, differentiation, assessments, and IEPs. Helps students build AI literacy and responsible usage habits.

School AI – Gives educators tools to design personalized classroom experiences with custom spaces and chatbots for students.

Khanmigo – Free for teachers. Acts as a teaching assistant for generating progress reports, classroom activities, and much more.

KEY CONCEPTS & DISPOSITIONS

THE HUMAN ADVANTAGE

There is no AI replacement for empathy, critical thinking, and the uniquely human ability to form meaningful relationships and contribute to communities.

TOOLS FOLLOW PURPOSE

AI tools are selected and used in alignment with clear educational goals — technology serves learning, not the other way around.

PERSPECTIVE BENDING

Students and educators are encouraged to share their own views while remaining genuinely open to the perspectives of others.

COURAGE–BASED FRAMING

FHPS approaches AI with a focus on possibilities rather than fear — embracing innovation while remaining grounded in shared values.
