Melanie Hoeksema is an educational leader with more than 30 years of experience serving as a teacher, reading consultant, instructional coach, and principal. Throughout her career, she has remained deeply committed to fostering high-quality instruction, supporting professional growth, and creating learning environments where all students can thrive. Her work is grounded in a strong belief in continuous improvement, a passion for learning, and an enduring sense of optimism about what students and educators can achieve together. She remains committed to creating environments where students and educators can thrive and where learning is valued and celebrated.
Having raised her family in Forest Hills Public Schools, Melanie is proud to be part of a community that has shaped both her personal and professional life. She is the parent of two adult children, both graduates of FHPS, and values the partnership between families, schools, and the broader community.
Outside of her professional role, Melanie enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, or relaxing at home with a good book.
