David Simpson has proudly served as Principal of Northern Hills Middle School for nearly a decade and has been an educational leader for 20 years. David is passionate about helping students discover their strengths and about creating a school culture rooted in kindness, curiosity, and connection. He has led efforts to bring Project-Based Learning and social and emotional growth to the center of the school experience. David also partners with teachers to build a culture of thinking and collaboration that inspires both students and staff. Above all, he believes that when students and staff feel valued and inspired, amazing things happen. David holds a Ph.D. in K-12 Educational Administration from Michigan State University. His wife, Renae, is a high school teacher in Forest Hills, and their two children both attend Forest Hills Public Schools.
